दोस्तों, पुलिस ने UGC से पचासों शोधार्थियों/स्टूडेंट्स को डिटेन कर कमला नगर थाने में बंद कर रखा है। सैंकड़ो स्टूडेंट्स अभी थाना पहुंच रहे हैं। लड़ाई जारी रहेगी। लाठी से लोग झुकेंगे नहीं।

संघ प्रवक्ता के बाद भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) के प्रवक्ता बने राम माधव ने कहा है कि 'अगर साहित्यकारों को राजनीति करनी है तो उन्हें घोषित तौर पर राजनीति करनी चाहिए.'

हम सत्तर दशक के छात्र हैं और हम मंडल कमंडल की लड़ाई में उलझे नहीं और न हमने आरक्षण या पहचान और धर्म पर ध्यान बंटाया।
इस आलेख के साथ नवारुण दा के बोल हैं वीडियो में जिसे सुनकर देखकर अंदाजा लगा सकते हैं कि इस फर्जी केसरिया सुनामी के आत्मध्वंस के मुकाबले सत्तर दशक क्या और कैसा रहा है।
जयप्रकाश नारायण के आंदोलन में जो छात्र सड़कों पर उतरे वे जातियों और धर्मों में,राजनीतिक दलों में बिखर गये और देश का छात्रआंदोलन खत्म हो गया।
सत्ता को अब तानाशाही में बदलने के खिलाफ किसी छात्र युवा का खून नहीं उबलता है क्योंकि शिक्षा अब नोट्स है या फिर आब्जेक्टिव प्रश्न।
उच्च शिक्षा और शोध को तिलांजलि दी गयी है।
शिक्षा अब कमोडिटी है।
शिक्षा अब क्रयशक्ति का मामला है अबाध विदेशी पूंजी और विदेशी हितों में चप्पा चप्पा बिके हुए देश में।
शिक्षा अब या तो हिंदुत्व का नरसंहारी एजंडा है या फिर नालेज इकोनामी और आरक्षण का फंडा छात्रो को विकलांग कबंध बनाने का आईपीएल आयोजन है।
छात्र समाज और युवाशक्ति के इसी विखंडन की वजह से यह देश बजरंगियों का अनंत आखेटस्थल बनाये हुए हैंतो युवा और छात्र बी प्रतिक्रियावादी के शिकंजे में हैं जबकि उनका भविष्यअंधकार है और उनके हाथ पांव कटे हुए हैं।
बलात्कार,हत्या,दमन,उत्पीड़न,घृणा,रंगभेद,बेदखली,नरसंहार की राजधानी नई दिल्ली में इसीलिए सत्ता शिक्षा के अधिकार मांग रहे छात्रों पर यह हमला करने की हिम्मत कर पा रही है।
इसके खिलाफ देसभर के छात्र युवा गांव गांव शहर शहर खड़े हो जायें तो हम भी नवारुणदा की तरह चीख कर कह सकते हैंः यह मृत्यु उपत्यका नहीं है।
तानाशाह कभी नहीं जीतता और समूचे देश में फैलता जा रहा है छात्रों का यह आंदोलन।

विकास का पहला सबक RMSA /SSA यानि प्राथमिक और माध्यमिक शिक्षा के बजट में कटौती करके दिया गया। फिर आई बारी मनरेगा के बजट की। फिर काटा गया समाज कल्याण योजनाओं का बजट। फिर शिक्षा संस्थानों में मंत्री और निदेशक पद पर गैर अकादमिक और सिर्फ चापलूस लोगों को रखने का क्रम शुरू हुआ। और अब उच्च शिक्षा के बजट में कटौती के बाद UGC नॉन नेट फेलोशिप पर रोक। हर रोज किसी एक शहर से साम्प्रदायिक और जातीय हिंसा की खबर। डेली मेल के सर्वे में भारत सर्वाधिक नस्लीय घृणा वाले देशों में शुमार।इसके साथ ही IIT के निदेशकों ने सरकार को चिट्ठी लिखकर मंत्रालय के अनावश्यक हस्तक्षेप के कारण इस्तीफे की मंशा जताई है और वैज्ञानिकों ने राष्ट्रपति को चिट्ठी लिखकर देश में बढ़ती असहिष्णुता पर चिंता जताई है। साहित्यकारों को संस्कृरिकर्मियों को तो खैर सरकार ने दलाल घोषित कर ही दिया है।

Police lathicharge, detain students as they try to enter office!
A protest by students in the national capital against the UGC's move to scrap non-NET fellowship escalated on Friday and led to police detaining scores of them as they tried to enter the premises of the academic body.
The students, camping outside the University Grants Commission (UGC) office since Wednesday demanding revocation of the move, alleged they were lathicharged and about 100 of them detained when they tried to go inside to meet the officials.
Non-NET fellowship row: Mumbai extends support to 'Occupy UGC' movement
Researchers from various institutes of Mumbai have announced support for their peers in Delhi who are protesting since Tuesday against the University Grants Commission's (UGC) recent decision of discontinuing the non-National Eligibility Test (NET) fellowship.
We, the students of University of Hyderabad, MANUU, TISS and EFLU marched together to UGC regional office in solidarity with the ongoing #occupyUGCmovement led by students in Delhi and registered our protest against the scrapping of non-NET fellowship. Instead of forming a delegation team, we demanded that the Joint Secretary of UGC should come down and address the students directly. Students raised slogans condemning the brahminical and imperialist onslaught on education. Students did not leave the place until Joint Secretary came and met the students. When she finally arrived, Students' Union President handed over the letter to be forwarded to UGC, Delhi and reiterated students' stand that we will not stop protesting until our three demands, #restore, #enhance and #expand non-NET fellowship are met. Not surprisingly, the policemen, right from the beginning, threatened us of "dire consequences" if we raised slogans and created "nuisance". Students gave back police a staunch reply by continuing with the slogans rejecting the police raj! We reiterate our stand that we will continue our protests in the days to come until UGC and MHRD's agenda of privatization and saffronization is overthrown!!

तो भक्तों देख लिया? ये सरकार पढ़ने-लिखने की संस्कृति के कितने विरोध में है? शोध की मांग पर ये डंडा चलवाती है। 20 हेलीकॉप्टर से बिहार में मंत्री लोग रोज़ चक्कर लगा रहे हैं, लेकिन M.Phil, Ph.D वालों को शोध के लिए पैसे नहीं देगी।
और भक्ति करोगे तो आगे से सारे सरकारी विश्वविद्यालय ही बंद कर देगी।

अभी-अभी फ़ोन पर छात्र संघ उपाध्यक्ष शेहला से बात हुई. सभी गिरफ़्तार छात्र-छात्रायें कमला मार्केट थाने में हैं. पत्रकार अखिल, विद्या नाम की एक छात्रा, व डीयू के छात्र आसिफ़(?) को गंभीर रूप से चोटें पहुंची है. शायद जान का खतरा नहीं है. पांच-छः अन्य छात्रायें भी बुरी तरह घायल हैं. इसके अलावा कई दर्जन छात्र. छात्रों के साथ एकजुटता व्यक्त करते हुए सैकड़ों अध्यापक सहित हज़ार से ऊपर छात्र थाने में पहुंच चुके हैं.
इस बात की भी जांच होनी चाहिये कि शांतिपूर्ण छात्र धरने पर इस प्रकार के हिंसक लाठी चार्ज के लिये कौन ज़िम्मेदार रहा है ? क्या यह फ़ैसला राजनीतिक स्तर पर लिया गया ? इस लाठी चार्ज के बाद अगले दिनों में दिल्ली में व उससे परे तक छात्र जगत में एक भीषण अशांति का ख़तरा कहीं अधिक बढ़ गया है.
BN Singh लाठियां चलाये सरकार छात्रों पर, तो क्या अभिभावक उन्हें अकेला छोड़ दें? साथ खड़े तो सबको होना चाहिए न्याय के के लिए लड़ते नौजवानो के साथ।

फेलोशिप बंद होने से सबसे ज्यादा नुकसान किसे होगा और किसकी पढ़ाई रुकेगी?

और ऊपर से मोदी जी का रोज-रोज का क्लेम कि दलितों पिछड़ों का कितना विकास कर रहे है! छोडिए भी. कितना विकास करेंगे? सबको जीने दीजिए.
अरावली पर्वत श्रृंखला के आखिरी छोर पर बने जेएनयू की लाल पथरीली बलुआ मिट्टी में कुछ तो खास है. इन दिनों यहां के हजारों छात्र और छात्राएं, देश भर के विश्वविद्यालयों के स्टूडेंट्स के सहयोग से, शोध छात्रों की फेलोशिप बचाने के संघर्ष में जुटी हैं. यह फेलोशिप केंद्र सरकार के जबड़े में फंसी है. वे हर दिन यूजीसी का घेराव कर रही हैं. उनकी मांग यह भी है कि फेलोशिप राज्यों में भी मिले. सरकार लगातार झूठ बोल रही है और दमन में जुटी है.
जो छात्र छात्राएं इस आंदोलन में रात दिन लगी हैं, उनमें कईयों को दूसरी स्कॉलरशिप मिल रही है. उन्हें ये फेलोशिप नहीं मिलने वाली. लेकिन वे भी लड़ रही हैं. पुलिस की लाठियां खा रही हैं, गिरफ्तारियां दे रही हैं. कई के सिर फूटे हैं. उनके लिए यह न्याय का संघर्ष है.
मेरा निजी निवेदन है कि जैसे और जितना बन पड़े, इनका साथ दीजिए. ये बेहतर देश बनाने की लड़ाई है.
गौर करें,दिलीप ने यह भी लिखा हैः
आरक्षण विरोधियों के खिलाफ लड़कर जान बाद में दीजिएगा मोदी जी, फिलहाल तो यह कीजिए कि प्रमोशन में आरक्षण का जो बिल आप डेढ़ साल से दबाकर बैठे हैं, उसे लागू करने के लिए अध्यादेश जारी कीजिए। यह काम आप कल भी कर सकते हैं। और हाँ, आपको बता दिया जाए कि प्रमोशन में आरक्षण "दूसरे धर्म वालों" को नहीं मिलता। सिर्फ एससी और एसटी को मिलता है। मुसलमानों का डर किसी और को दिखाइए।

#occupyUGC यह लड़ाई तय करेगी कि भविष्य में उच्च शिक्षा और शोध में भारत कुछ सार्थक करेगा या कोर्पोरेट के चंगुल में फंसकर उनकी जी हुजूरी में शिक्षा को लगा देगा.
यह लड़ाई तय करेगी कि समाज के किसी भी रूप में वंचित तबके के ( लडकियां, दलित, किसान, भूमिहीन आदिवासियों के बच्चे ) विद्यार्थी जिनके लिए अभिभावकों पर निर्भरता से मुक्त होकर अपने पांवों पर खडा होना एक उम्र के बाद जरूरी होता है, वे उच्च शिक्षा में बने रहकर इस प्रतिस्पर्धा में टिक पायेंगे या नहीं.
यह लड़ाई तय करेगी कि सामाजिक विज्ञान और मानविकी जैसे विषय , जिनमें किसी निजी प्रायोजक के आगे आने की संभावना बहुत कम होती है , बचे रहेंगे या नहीं. ये विषय - जो समाज को दृष्टि देते हैं, जिसका भौतिक मूल्य आंका नहीं जा सकता.
यह लड़ाई तय करेगी कि विद्यार्थी एक समुदाय के रूप में व्यवस्था को हिला सकता है या नहीं.
यह लड़ाई जीती जानी बहुत जरूरी है !

We, as social scientists, scholars, teachers and concerned citizens, feel extremely concerned about the lynching at Dadri, and the murders of scholars and thinkers like MM Kalburgi, Narendra Dabholkar, Govind Pansare and others, and wish to register our strong protest.
We are not just shocked by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late response, but also by the implications of the victim-blaming statement he made. To say that ‘Hindus and Muslims should not fight each other but should fight poverty instead’ puts the onus for peace and fighting poverty entirely on civil society and communities and absolves the state of any responsibility for both. As Prime Minister, he should have asserted that the state would defend the rule of law.
In a country with some 4693 communities and over 415 living languages, each community is bound to have its own customs, including dietary choices. Individuals may also follow practices different from the ones followed by the majority of their community. Any attempt to impose a uniform belief or practice, on either individuals or communities, is antithetical to the freedom enshrined in the Constitution. It is the state’s responsibility to ensure this freedom.
Further, as scholars, we are extremely worried about the implications of these recent developments for our ability to study and write about different life ways, and to critically analyse society, including social phenomena like religion.

On Tuesday evening, the Delhi Police lathicharged on students who have been agitating outside the University Grants Commission office since last Wednesday to protest against the scrapping of so-called non-NET fellowships by the apex body.
These fellowships were allowed approximately 35,000 students to pursue their M.Phil and Ph.Ds programmes in central universities across the country. These fellowships, which are not based on the National Eligibility Test, the exam that qualifies candidates to be lecturers, give researchers Rs 5,000-Rs 8,000 each month with some contingency grants.
Even as the Ministry of Human Resources Development clarified that it will continue the fellowships and constitute a committee to decide the future of these grants, the students have been demanding that the fellowships be continued without any conditions and the stipends be linked to prevailing inflation rates.
The protesting students were lathicharged near the ITO Metro Station around 6 pm before an as-yet undetermined number were taken in vans to Kamla Market Police Station. According to students at the site, more than 100 policemen chased protesters in an operation that continued for at least 10 minutes.
Around 15 protesters have been severely injured and taken to the hospital, the students said. They alleged that the police beat up students in the bus that was transporting them to the station.
A photo journalist named Akhil Kumar was also reported to have been beaten up. He suffered injuries on his face and student activists reported that the police tried to snatch his camera.
Jawaharlal National University’s Student Union vice president Shehla Rashid was among those who were detained. Rashid condemned the crackdown, but said that the protesters will be back with “even larger number”.
“We condemn the brutal lathi-charge on students, especially women protestors who were occupying the ITO Metro Station gate,” she said. “It's shameful that the government and UGC are not hearing the genuine demands of students and turning an academic issue into a pitted battle between students and police. We will not let this action break our spirit. We appeal to students from all over the country to rush to Delhi and join the movement here. We will come in even larger numbers and reclaim our right to education.”

Late on Tuesday evening, about 30 teachers at Jawaharlal Nehru University and Delhi University issued a statement condemning the lathicharge. They said:
"As faculty and students who stand together with the students protesting the revocation/review of the UGC non-NET fellowship, we are outraged at the brutal police action against students gathered in a protest demonstration since yesterday, without a single convincing response from the UGC or the MHRD that could allay the anxieties of thousands of students across India that the non-NET fellowship will not be discontinued. Prevarication on this basic demand by press releases announcing the setting up of a review committee has only indicated a malafide intent.
We are deeply dismayed to hear of the reports of significant injuries to unarmed protestors and the detention of a number of students by the police. We demand the immediate release of all the detainees and the provision of medical aid. The MHRD Minister and the UGC Chairperson should understand that the situation can only be defused by their unequivocal assurance to the academic community that there shall be no rollback or any other amendment of the eligibility of students for the UGC Non-NET Fellowship scheme for the universities that are already in receipt of these fellowships in this or future academic years. Furthermore, it should take positive and visible steps to meet students demands for an enhancement of fellowship remuneration and undertake to extend this fellowship scheme to state universities as well."
