President Obama in 2011 SOTU speech to Republican Congress, "I’m asking Congress to eliminate the billions in taxpayer dollars we currently give to oil companies … Instead of subsidizing yesterday’s energy, let’s invest in tomorrow’s." Well, the Republican Congress did not phase out those MASSIVE subsidies for fossil fuels. And they never will. But in spite of Republican resistance, we're making progress getting reliable, affordable, Electric Vehicles to consumers.
