Intelligence Bureau to keep an eye on Rajasthan universities, colleges

The Indian Express
The Rajasthan Intelligence Bureau has issued directions to its officials to keep a watch on activities in the state’s universities in view of the events that have unfolded at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi.
There have been several demonstrations across universities and colleges in Rajasthan over the alleged shouting of “anti-national” slogans at JNU and subsequent arrest of JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar.
“There have been various protests, some for JNU, some against, at several educational institutes across Rajasthan. So, to avoid any deterioration in the law and order situation, we have asked our units to keep a watch on the activities in universities and colleges,” ADG (intelligence) Utkal Ranjan Sahoo told The Indian Express.
Sahoo, however, denied receiving any inputs or alerts from central agencies regarding the same.
On Tuesday, the ABVP demonstrated at Rajasthan University against the alleged anti-national activities at JNU, while NSUI protested against the “crackdown” at JNU and subsequent violence at the Patiala House Courts premises on Monday.
