Social Movement Party (SMP) today held a meeting of its Office Bearers at its Head Office, Jammu to discuss the issue of “PRESENT CIRCUMSTANCES AND THE LAW AND ORDER SITUATION IN THE STATE OF J&K” and issued a “PRESS RELEASE”.

SMP expressed that they feel that PDP-BJP Coalition Government has failed miserably on all fronts to meet the aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir and every citizen of J&K is of the firm view that there is hardly anything in the State in the name of Government. SMP alleged that the present PDP-BJP Coalition Government is working against the interests of the common masses and the Government is crushing the voice of the people by using gun in whole of the State. SMP also raised very serious concern about the situation of Kashmir and continuous Curfew in whole of valley for the last about one month.

SMP further discussed and condemned the attitude of PDP-BJP Government as it has commercialized whole of the education deliberately to keep it beyond the reach of common masses in J&K State. Same is the plight of medical facilities in the State of J&K, SMP feels. Youth is rushing towards militancy, drugs, crimes and anti-national activities because there is no employment at all. As per as personal security of a citizen is concerned, no one can guarantee the returning back home of any male or female citizen in whole of the State. Even the business and trade is at its lowest ebb as on today. The situation of Law & Order is worst in the State of Jammu & Kashmir under the rule of mighty upper caste political rulers from both the coalition partners viz. PDP – BJP. SMP feels that the 9% upper caste population of the total population of J&K State vis-à-vis India viz. the ruling class deliberately created such situation in the State of J&K vis-à-vis India so that the people should remain busy in sorting out the problems created by them, and no one should care for their lawlessness and enjoying of pearls by them at the cost of common masses.

SMP further expressed that the State of J&K is experiencing the worst of corruption and nepotism which is touching new peaks as common masses are suffering a lot due to non execution of any work in their favour. SMP feels that PDP-BJP are using the police, paramilitary forces and army in the State of J&K to crush the common masses just to retain power in their hands at the cost of lives of people as more than two hundred people have been killed in the valley till date in fresh row of incidents. Democratic governments are run not by crushing the masses, but by redressing the genuine grievances of the common masses, SMP feels. The coalition Government is basically a micro minority of upper caste Muslims and Hindus who could retain power only by dividing the Aboriginal Indigenous Indians who are more than 91% of the total population of J&K State vis-à-vis India by dividing them into small small fragments of castes and religion. 

Expressing a very serious concern about the presence of PDP – BJP MLAs and ministers in the form of J&K State Government, SMP relied upon a famous couplet (Sher) which reads as “BARBAAD GULISTAN KARNE KO, BAS EK HI ULLU KAAFI HAI! HAR SHAAKH PE ULLU BAITHA HAI, ANJAAM-E-GULISTAN KYA HOGA”. Therefore, SMP demads that“MEHBOOBA-NIRMAL MUST RESIGN & END UNHOLY ALLIANCE OF COALITION PARTNERSHIP OF EXTREMISTS TO RESTORE NORMALCY” in the best interest of common masses of J&K State.

Finally, the SMP thanked its members, activists & leaders to make this programme a grand success.
