Today the Members of Governing Council, Environmental Policy Group (EPG), an Enviro-Social Think Tank visited Chaar Chinari, an Island inside Dal Lake to take the first hand note of the issues faced by the Island.
The team of EPG were warmly received by the locals who are engaged in commercial activities, like Photography, Motor Boat Owners, Jet Skiing Owners and mobile restaurant owners.
It was very disturbing to note that the successive governments have ignored the importance of the Chaar Chinari and its Heritage Value. Out of Four Chinars only two are in good condition.
