A 24-year-old woman was abducted from her workplace in Muktsar in Punjab, dragged across the street in broad daylight and raped. The horrifying act took place on March 25.
The man dragging the woman out of her office has been caught on CCTV camera.
Despite the incident taking place during the day with several people in the vicinity, none of the bystanders stepped up to help her. Police, too, registered an FIR in the case five days after the incident took place.
Even after a month, no arrests have been made yet.
Police claim the woman knew the assailant and the two belonged to the same village.
The young Dalit woman and her family has approached the National Commission for Scheduled Castes which has summoned the police officials seeking details of the probe into the incident.
